PA CREW Rocks!!

I was found by my old JC ECA (last time it's not called CCA) friend over the Internet last week. She googled me and found my blog. From there, she found my MSN and messaged me... the wonders of technology. Then she sent me old photos of when we were in JC which she scanned.

Wow.. seems like eternity when I look at these pixes... I still had very thick hair then... sniff...

Always remember the fun times there... hehehe... climbing the roof of the school in the middle of the night... crawling across the school field playing games... playing carom in the PA room while the rest of the school are singing the National Anthem... hahaha... funny...

Well.. here's a contest. If any of you can spot me from the 2 pixes, I will give you a treat...

... to EXPO Hall 9 waffle!!! Comes in 3 delicious flavours! Peanut! Chocolate! and... Kaya!! YEah!! :)

Kred Studios - It's a Way of Life

As many of you know, I'm starting my company soon. I'm still in the midst of preparation. Actually, it's more like I'm in the midst of consolidating my thoughts and plans, and feelings and everything that's been mashed into one big gigantic ball about what this is all about.

But in the midst of all this deciphering, some things did fall into place to give greater clarity of the vision ahead.

I came up with the name Kred because it is a nickname which I've used since I can't remember when. The other one that I used since I was in Secondary 3 was this nick called Moo-moo Man (note: this is an important piece of info which you will find out why in the very near future) It was derived from a very old techno song by E.M.F., for those of us who lived through the 90s if you still remember.

It came one morning when I was spending time with the Lord. I was in my room and I told Him, "God...!! Tell me... what do I name the company?? Lord...!! I want to do it YOUR way!!!"

Then there was a clash of thunder and my room shook and the letters K.R.E.D. appeared in a mist of smoke written across the tiny constraints of my room...

NO!! It didn't happen this way!! I'd be freaked out if the Lord spoke to me like that in my room!

In a gentle voice in my heart, He just told me...

"Do it your way..."

"God... is that You??"

"No!!! Impossible!! It must be my flesh!! My heart is evil!!" *stab stab my heart... "NOooo...!! My flesh must have overtaken me...!!! Argh..!!" *continues stabbing my heart.

Well, yeah, it was pretty hard to believe what I heard, but the following Sunday, during our adults prayer meeting, Chao Yang came to pray for me and released these words.

"The Lord wants you to know that through this company, He will fulfill the desires of your heart."

Zun bo??

Anyway, I felt it was the Lord's confirmation to do it my way. Why my way? Cos it's always been a desire in my heart to start a company that does creative stuff and help ppl on how to do it.

So I came up with this slogan: Kred Studios... It's a way of life...

Well, imagine my surprise when I heard that mentioned during the Jackie Pullinger conference where she said, serving the poor is not a set of programs! It's a way of life...

What really struck my heart was when she preached about being set free from the system where hearts are killed by the way we live our lives these days and how it pains the heart of God. The Lord began to open my eyes to what my company will be about. It will be to set free the hearts of many kids out there who are being oppressed by the system of this world. To teach them to live out the desires of their hearts, rightful desires that had been put there in their hearts when the Lord first formed them in their mothers' wombs.

So first, I gotta just believe the Lord, step out and live out my dream so many others can follow too.

It's no surprise then that this Sundays sermon by guest speaker Landa Cope is about living out the desires of our hearts. Often times, we conform to what this society demands of us and we kill our hearts so we can survive. But the sad thing is, when you kill your heart, which is the fountain of where life flows from, you end up a walking zombie. Not only that, you cut off the only place where you can hear God's sweet, tender voice.

I've been holding this dream in my heart for the longest time in my life. I know I've been called to the market place. Twice it has been prophesied over me; once by Ps Khong himself and another by a Prophet from our church. And now, I need to simply obey and step out of the boat and walk, and know that He will carry me... across the ripples of water... to the other end of the shore...

"if God says it, I'll believe it and that settles it."

Theory of Evolution

Found this on Chee Mun's Website and I totally laughed out loud when I saw it... By the way, he looked like Leslie Cheung aka Gor Gor...

Strangely, my celebrity look alike all had curly hair.

Is this some kind of cruel joke???

By the way, Jacques Villeneuvre (don't bother pronouncing it) is an F1 race car driver :)

I'm not only good-looking, I'm also SUPER COOL too! :)

P.Ramlee is a close second and yeah, I had comments from ppl that I look a bit like Malay.

Heck, I even had a Thai girl ask me what time it is in Thai cos she tought I was a Thai! Talk about blending into the cultures... I have a multi-cultural face! With this test, it has confirmed one thing: I not only look like a Malay (P.Ramlee) and a Thai (Tony Jaa), I also look like an Ang Moh (Jacques)!

Hey, you know what? I'm not only multi-cultural, I'm also multi-gender! (refer to Jennie Finch and Michelle Wie)

The Human Race is one big family la... we all came from Adam and Eve. :)

and you know what's the greatest joke? Scientists are saying we all look like monkeys too! Heck, for all you know, if you have a long neck, you may be related to the giraffe...

Phantom of Yesteryear

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Went to watch Phantom of the Opera on sunday night.

Alright la...

It's really an international production. The props, the lights, the set was amazingly intricate and detailed. It was also very grand, which gave the production weight.

It's not the first time I've watched Phantom.

The first time I did, it was in 1994. I was still a JC One student man... It was showing at the Kallang Theatre.

sidenote: the ang mohs like to pronounce it (Ker-leng Theatre)

We Singaporeans know how it's supposed to be pronounced. Just follow the actual spelling of the word lor!

Repeat after me: "KAH-LAAANG TEE-EH-TER"!!

got it?

good :)

As compared to the first time I watched it, the Phantom this time is taller... much taller... cos the last time I watched it, the actual actor acting as the Phantom was not feeling too well, so they got this reserve phantom to act... wa! you must be thinking, Drama also got reserve one ah?? I thought only football got reserve!

Yup, they got a RESERVE phantom. ANd he is...

short.

really short...

you could hardly see him when he pranced around the stage.

so, actually I'd say the Phantom I saw on Sunday night is definitely much better than the one I saw 13 years ago... :) in terms of singing wise, this one packs a bigger punch than the last one.

But you know, having listened to the Phantom CD for the last umpteenth year since my secondary school days, none of them in my opinion compared to the original, original Phantom, Mr Michael Crawford. I thought the Female lead this time round can't compare with Sarah Brightman herself either... (the latter tried to revive her singing career by putting every Phantom song into her albums)

but anyway, all in all, it was an enjoyable evening cos I always enjoy going to the theatre and the whole feel of being quiet and all to watch a live performance. It's like watching football on TV and watching it at the stadium. Which one is better?

Post JTRC Season

Ok, hope everyone's doing ok after the JTRC :)

No post JTRC blues right?

If got, please go for altar call for healing hor...

But frankly I was a bit lost after JTRC. Like a speedin train that's been let loose from the track and ahving no where to go, I've find myself propelled into the next phase of my life, without much warning. I knew it was coming but just not sure how to stabilise myself and head off to the new light :)

well, for one, I'm in the midst of preparing to start my company so there are a lot of preparations to be done. I'm also trying to think of a kilat name for my company :)

So if anyone had any suggestions, they can put it into my tagboard, and if I find it a great name, I'll treat you to a free lunch!

at the EXPO :)

I did have some in mind, like Spear Productions, CH4 Studios... etc etc... but I thought I'd like something more cutting edge...

so in the meantime, I'll be concentrating on my entrepreneurial venture!

Yup.. pretty exciting
