Son of Adam Son of God

I got up on Tuesday morning and was prompted by the Lord to read the Gospel of Luke when I came upon this passage.

The Geneology of Jesus Christ

Luke 3:23

"Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli...

... the son of David, the so of Jesse...

... the son of Judah, the son of Jacob, the son Isaac, the son of Abraham,...

... the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God."

the explanation given under this text is that Luke wanted to prove the authenticity of the sonship of Jesus Christ as the son of God. As opposed to the geneology given in Matthew, which traced Jesus' lineage back to Abraham only, Luke's geneology traced it back to Adam, then to God.

Most of us tend to skip this part, cos it's just a bunch of names.

But at that moment when I laid my eyes on those last words, "the son of God", I felt the Holy Spirit speak to me.

"If you are a son of Adam, you ARE my son."

It dawned upon me that we all came from Adam, either son or daughter and God calls us His sons and daughters.

I felt the love of God flood my heart and His warmth cover me. It was like the Father affirming His love for me once more.

You are my Father and I am Your son, in whom You are well-pleased... :)
