Examinations
Most you know that I'm doing my temp job now. Sorry I wasn't able to blog since I was out virtually every night and I haven't even got time to check my email... so I'm taking my very precious saturday to write... and to update all on my life...
As I shared during cell group last week, it was a pretty trying time for me...
I get scolded by my boss, or rather ventilated upon by him when I fail to read his mind. So it was quite a challenge activating my mind-reading powers to know what he wants done and NOT done... which is actually quite an amazing feat.
So after weeks of grilling I've managed some success to increase my telekinetic powers of mind-reading and actually able to anticiapte what my boss wants and not want done... Amazing right? I should really consider enrolling into Xavier's school of youths with special abilities... but then again, I could be over the age limit...
hey, but didn't Wolverine join them when he was all old and grumpy? hmm... confusing... and what about the Beast? I mean, he's so old you can't even tell from all the fur that he's under... ah... maybe that's why... they couldn't tell his age from ALL the fur he was under... ladies, you should consider putting on some facial hair to hide the wrinkles... works like a charm...
but well, anyway, a testimony to share was that, once when my boss started acting up, I prayed to the Lord for His blood to cover our relationship and also to improve on it. The amazing thing is that almost immediately, my boss had softened and we were able to at least exchange a few sentences of lame jokes... (yes, it's a breakthrough)
alright la... he's quite funny la... just that when he's stress or some one pissed him off, he'd be spouting torrents of expletives... all refined english of course... he's still a gentleman mind you...
the truth is, after 4 weeks of gruelling emtional and physical stress... my eyes are glued to the screen from 9 to 6... I've started to enjoy the challenge of making sure that all the speakers of the conference get their flights and accommodations. I'm also very excited about being able to support my boss in this whole exercise and of course, increasing my mind reading powers... I could be the next Professor X after another 5 years of practise.. but alas.. the job truly is not for me cos every day, I can't wait for the clock to strike 6... and an amazing transformation occurs... I turn from the office guy by day who is fixed to the seat of my chair, to the supersonic speed of light super hero who dashes out of the office before anyone even notices me... all they could feel was the whiff of wind that follows my departure... "PHOOI"!!!
yup... well, I did come to the Lord and ask Him why He brought this job to me... He said, "It is to test your strength."
I said, "oh... meaning... ?"
He said, "To test the strength of the person I've molded for the past 6 over years"
I said, "ah..."
and I get the feeling in my spirit as He spoke to me that this, yes THIS is my final exam of the school of desert that He told me I'd walk through.
OooooK! So yup, in 2 weeks' time, I should be able to graduate.
I guess I learned much during my work here, especially of who I am.
1) I learned that I had become more adept at taking s*** - when my boss scolds me, the whole office can hear it... -
2) My siginificance is not based on what I can or cannot do - when I make mistakes for not being detailed enough or for lack of knowldge... or mind reading powers...
3) I know who I am and what the Lord made me for - definitely not to do admin -
4) and a good attitude brings you out of your own misery - I asked the Lord for a vision of how I should respond, He showed me to enjoy my work and take it as a challenge.
At the end of it, I've overcome and I'm able to see what the Lord had done in me and I rejoice in being able to go through all these and finally come to enjoy what I'm doing.
Praise the Lord!
