RESERVIST!
Hi PPL!
In case you're still in the dark... moi is currently valiantly serving the nation! :)
well... today's the first day and all we did was wait for the officers to finish their meeting before we could go home...
so what did we valiant men of SAF do in the meantime?
we crept into the bunk and slept for the whole afternoon.. :)
power right??
but sleep already feel more tired... :P
But I seriously think it's the getting up early in the morning thing that really kills me...
I can't understand how students can do it anymore... I've lost the art of waking up early... so with that, I give my most sincere salutation to all teachers and students out there... you ppl are really power man...!!
But being in the army always has it's share of influences.
I'm saying this also to caution every one of us in our attitude towards life.
When 2 or more reservists come together, the first thing that they do is to slime the SAF. This grumbling spirit perpetuates around and very soon you see ppl cursing about the army here and there...
I try my best to steer clear of such conversations cos I don't want to taint my spirit with such negativity. I wanna go in and serve with joy and gladness in my heart and be positive about it! :)
and the other thing that reservists always talk about is how to escape doing stuff aka 'KENG' which is a spirit of sloth and laziness as well as mediocrity.
I guess in life you can either choose to be positive or negative. And the words which you use has power to determine your attitudes in life.
Years ago, I had a habit of saying I'm tired and telling ppl I'm tired and sian... then I realized that as I kept declaring that, I really became more tired and sian... So I made an effort not to say those words and feeling sian... and guess what? the Lord gave me renewed strength and vigor for each day and I broke out of that weariness and sian-ness!
So next time you're tempted to say sian or make a negative remark, watch your tongue. Because words have power and they will only reaffirm and strengthen what you're already feeling. But choose to speak and declare positively so you find refreshment and strength in your spirit! :)
"Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe..."
Philippians 2:14-15
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonains 5:16-18
