fever

ok, quite a few things going on here.

between catching up with sleep due to world cup matches and completing the project, which we're going to have a presentation this coming friday, i'm also in the midst of preparing for my sydney trip for the hillsong conference!!

yeah!!!

ok, there's some envious ppl here, who will strangle me for announcing this :)

and yes, Basia is going too!!! yeah!!! so that means we won't be there for cell group next week!! yeah!!! and JX and 3sa and lyd will lead cell group!! yeah!!!

is this a little surprising? haha...

as it stands, i'm having some trouble breathing... think i'm too busy liao... wait, it's not that i'm really busy, it's just this project is really sucking me cos it's neither here nor there. as a fren of mine describes this kind of stress very aptly, it's called latent stress... like though you got time on your hands, you can't really sit down and rest cos there's always this thing going on at the back of your mind that you've yet to finish and it's so huge it needs to be done in bits and bits, till the whole chunk is done...

but I'm just glad i'm gonna be done and over with it soon... hopefully when i come back from sydney, i can wrap it up in a week or 2... yeah, that's my estimate...

then I can fly to amelica!!! yeah!!! and mug a few chinese over there at central park!! yeah!! power to the people!

but there's just so many things that i wanna do... like finally catch up on my reading... REALLY clear my room, by digging up all the thinggs I stuffed into the cupboard and putting them to places where they belong... and really getting down to making up the room till it's really chic... now, it's like half chic and half whatever... looks like an asylum...

"zhng my room!" - zhng stands for modify in hokkien for those uninitiated to hokkien...

oh yeah... and I promise my mum to watch DA CHANG JIN... all 70 episodes of it!!!!! cos she' so hooked on it, (on a maniacal scale already, i should say) she's bugging me to watch it so i can share her joy of watching Lee Young Ae pretending to be a 16 yr old and growing old to be in her 40s... so i'll be eating, sleeping, drinking and crapping kimchi man for the whole month of july and august...!!! yeah!

and for those of you who are following our band, we have new recordings. did some reggae worship which you'll surely enjoy... AND recognise, as well as an acoustic version of grave... JX should really drool over this piece.... :)

got some pixes too.. so you can check them out.

on the reason why I love cats... the passion started cos a sister-in-Christ of mine used to rear cats at her house. she stayed at a private housing so it's pretty easy for her to keep cats...

when i got to know her then, i was a DOG person. I hated cats. I think they're just unfriendly and untamed. they want your food and affection but never give any back to you. :)

but by and by, somehow la... she began to indoctrinate me about how loveable cats are and how she used to hate them but now love them... if there ever were a reason how PC users are covnerted to mac users it's cos of ppl like these... they ARE relentless!!! they will never stop!! NEVER!! until they convert you!!! bah!

so, yeah, here I am, a convert, not hating it... but slowly embracing it... i think having a neighbour who has a cat also helps, cos each day I come home, i'm greeted by the cat... sleeping as usual... butt facing me... ever unreciprocative... but... alright, i'm just smitten by the way it sleeps... the way it curls up and its head safely snugged amidst her paws...

aw... i'm a sucker for furry things sometimes... it dents my masculine side a little, but I can live with it... bleah...

alright... back to work...

a little bit more... just a little bit more... and i'll touch the finishing line...

Daddy Day

Father's Day just passed and this is what I got from my youths, courtesy of Basia :)

A toy fishing pond! Powered by the Holy Spirit! Got 50 Fishes to catch... Last night when I showed the toy to my mum, we stayed and played. It wasn't as easy as we thought. Took the 2 of us quite a while to catch all 50 fish :)

See? the fishing rods even got the Ladder of Success written on them.

WIN! CONSOLIDATE! DISCIPLE! SEND!

Finally the card!

After having heard me say this phrase for like a hundren and fifty million times they decided to shut my mouth by giving me a card with this beautiful lamp blue-tac-ed to a black cardboard.

It even lights up! Woo Hoo!

Cos my name Aaron stands for Light-Bearer so I think there really is none so appropriate a gift as this. I really like it when it lights up! :) WOOT!

Well, I must say that I was quite shocked when I found out that they were gonna be celebrating Father's Day for us; Sim Chun, Yeo, Chao Yang, Yao and Myself. While they were praying for us, I was just so tickled when they kept mentioning the word, "Four Fathers" which sounded like fore fathers... made us sound like we have died for a long time and come back as ghosts to haunt them... "woooooooo....."

Hahaha... anyway, just wanna say thank you guys! You've been a gret bunch! wanted to grab each of them and give them one big hug to say how much I love each and everyone of them! :) and then give them a big kiss on their cheeks *MUACKS!

hahaha... God is really good... He has truly blessed me and enlarged my territory, held His hand upon me and kept me from pain.

Hallelujah! Yup, all this would not have been possible if not for Him. :) Thank You Father, Thank You! For blessing me with children I can enjoy... :)

worship

the worship seminar on mon was fantastic.

vivian hibbert is truly a woman who knows and is intimately acquainted with the presence of the Lord.

the teaching was an eye-opener and it really revealed to my heart how much God adorns me as His bride. (yes, Basia, i'm Christ's Bride! And one day, He's coming back for me)

strange how recently the Lord has been bringing these female references into my life i.e. mary, bride...

but it was the worship session that totally blew my mind. i was a little restless to be honest cos i've been feeling a lack of energy for the last few days. when the worship began, vivain merely played the flute and as soon as the sounds of the flute played n my ears, my spirit resonated the deep yearnings within me towards the Lord. tears rolled down my cheeks. i could hardly contain the emotions within me.

and at that moment the Lord brought me to many places around the world in my spirit, the great waterfalls, the mountains, the trees... and He just kept beckoning to me to "come" and enjoy Him.

yet there was deep sorrow in my heart, deep pain which the Lord is healing. He brought that out and began to restore me.

it was the deepest worship i've experienced in a long time. and it was all wordless. yes, it wasn't songs she was playing. it was just music.

deep worship is from the heart, not the lips.

With a Little Help From My Friends

met up with a dear friend today.

we had coffee at starbucks cafe at tampines.

we're really comfortable with one another so as soon as we met, we plunge into conversations about our lives. we sahred about what the Lord has been speaking to us and the journey that He is walking through in our lives right now.

it's amazing to be around this woman. she is so wise in the Lord and each time i'm with her i really know this woman knows the Lord intimately. have you met a person like this before? I know my friend is one.

haha... and each time i share, she can just look me right in the eye and thin slice whatever i said. haha... there's just no hiding from her... she knows me too well...

since she's back, i kept telling her that she's the only person that can keep me sane in this environment of "marthas" she does, she really does. wish she wouldn't go back to the bund, which is where she works. (oh, did i reveal too much about who she is?) haha... she made me promise i'd tell no one about her return... so far, she's the only one telling everyone herself... haha...

i'm glad i have a friend like her.

will be going to sentosa tom.

the sun, the sea, the sand, the seven-11...

ben the executioner drummer

now, you will witness the transformation of ben my drummer, from ordinary NS man to gothic rock band executioner drummer who can kill ppl with his drum rolls.

step 1: ben starts to perspire as his transformation begins. the antigens inhis blood begins to react... he's still smiling to keep his composure...

step 2: ben tries to hide his disfiguration by pulling his shirt up. but the transformation has already begun...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

step 3: ben sheds his skin to reveal a sickly yellowish hide beneath...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

step 4: alas! the monster has overtaken him (ala HOLLOW in bleach) ben has lost control of himself and now begins his final stage of transformation!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

step 5: the drummer executioner takes his place and begins his maniacal drum beats of death and destruction!!! ( in the background dylan, jj and daniel screams afoul as we pleaded for him to stop!! "ben, enough! your drum beats are out of sync!!")

sim chun's BIG DAY

alright, alright, so we've all seen and heard what happened on Sunday after service.

for those of us who are clueless or not there, here's what happened.

we gathered together on sunday after service just to celebrate sim chun's birthday. while we were waiting for joyce to come over, (her girls always late one la... :P wahaha...) we started with a time of thanksgiving for sim chun.

yeo and julius came up and gave thanks for this man who so patiently preached the gospel to them and brought them to Jesus. chao yang shared about how 'proud your father is of you" and when joyce came to share, the Spirit just came and she broke down and poured her out for this brother of ours. at this point in time not many eyes were dry.

the Lord was indeed doing a work of reconiliation in the hearts of both brother and sister since the many "confrontations" they had... haha... where I was often sandwiched in between... ahem... was the Lord good or what?

then it was time for me to give thanks and i just couldn't control my tears at that point of time and those big water droplets came streaming down my cheeks. :)

sim stood up and gave thanks to the Lord for joyce and I and his guys and we just hugged. :)

so here are the pixes la...

yeah, so we hugged. :) the most funny thing was that I was just sharing with my guys earlier in the afternoon about not being afraid to engage with a guy intimately as brothers like David and Jonathan. think God really has a good sense of humour. now we have a term for it, called "FEELING" haha... thank to Zhi Yang la... he and his "feeling" with his friend... haha...

well, the most amazing part was when sim chun smsed me later while we were going for dinner, we shared that we had the same vision while we hugging.

we saw ourselves in heaven and when I was hugging him, it felt as though i was there with Jesus in heaven welcoming him home and i'm so proud of him.

he shared with me that he saw the same vision too! it was as though he had finished the race and gone back to heaven and i was there to welccome him back to heaven.

wow... i believe that it's going to come to pass. :)

does that mean i'll go back heaven first?

er...

then the other question is: where's the birthday cake ah? burp*

Tribal Choir

espirit de corp!

that's the only word i can describe out tribe choir experience :)

it's been a long time since I've seen such high spirits in people.

I think many of us, esp the old timers would have felt the same. I mean, don't you find such feelings of euphoria only at soccer games and school sports meet or some pop concert? that's the reason why many ppl like to catch live soccer games or go to a live rock concert to experience the "atmosphere" of being there.

But it's more than just being there. It's being with a group of ppl who shares the same spirit and purpose and united as one to root for something that is valuable.

On sunday, I think we experienced a bit of that.

I mean I was just blown away, seeing my YA guys so focused and serious about getting the moves and the lyrics right! We even had a rehearsal the night before the actual event to just make sure that we get it right, and give our best to the Lord! This spirit of excellence in just giving our best to Him is what really inspired and encouraged me :) whoa, guys! you guys rock!

and last night Sim just shared with me that as he began to put his heart into doing this, he became more and more excited until on the actual day itself, the excitement just overwhelmed him.

I believe he said something that will echo in many of our hearts. He said that many of us will remember this day for years to come :) and I can't agree more. :)

hahaa... and seeing my girls with their make up, looking so cute and spritely and the guys dressed so smartly for the occasion, just makes a father feel so proud. And I know that God the Father Himself is just so proud to see us like that. :)

I mean I was giving my 120% out there on the stage! I sang so loud, there were a few times when I literally ran out of breathe... *pant pant... but it was all worth it... when at the end of the day, Crystal affirmed us that we were so wild, we were out of control... haha... and that we had set a new standard for the rest of the choirs that is to come... hahaha... i even suggested that we bring sparklers next time we're on stage! and hey, I'm serious... even if it means having to smuggle them on stage... hahaha...
