HALF DAY
In a bid to solve my financial predicament, I have taken up Relief Teaching.
This was in due thanks to a suggestion by my dear brother Chao Yang, who while flipping through old pixes of mine at my place, told me about Relief Teaching.
"Why don't you try relief teaching? Very good money, you know. $100 for half a day! And they're only looking at people who can control a class well. No need to teach one. Principal will have no expectations on you!"
So... lured by the prospect that I only need half a day to get $100 while I can spend the other half of the day doing stuff to get my company started, I registered with MOE the next day and went around to about 10 schools in my neighbourhood givinig them my resume.
so this week, one called me up on Monday, and I did my first day of relief teaching.
It was, I must say, quite an experience.
I was taking a Pri 3 class. The kids were hysterical... they were running around the classroom, taunting each other and shouting abuse at each other cos of some miscomm like,
"Teacher! Daniel scold me stupid!"
"Teacher! Daniel poke me!"
"Teacher!..."
blah blah blah...
then you have the guy who was shooting paper bullets and shot this girl in the eye. and this other girl who lost her handphone...
yup and it's gotta be during my relief... :P
and just today, I took a Pri 5 class where this boy went to overturn a girl's table, and the girl likewise to his table... and blah blah blah...
whoa... Relief teaching is exciting man...
but it's still worth it la... cos I only work half day... HAHAHA... :)
gotta love these kids... gotta love them... :)
But in the end, I realised that I only got $90, cos I'm not a trained teacher... ARGH!!! The atrocities of life!! ARGH!!
and the VP told me I have to teach them something, even if I'm relieving for ONE day! Whatever happened to just doing class control?
hahaha... no la... I'm still thankul la... :)
